Get to know Kate:
I’m Kate, a counsellor based in Cornwall and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work primarily online across the UK and offer walk-and-talk sessions in the beautiful, rugged and picturesque Cornwall. My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, guided by compassion, curiosity, connection and empathy. I aim to create a space where you feel heard and empowered to explore your thoughts and experiences at your own pace.
The quality of our relationship shapes everything we do together. By building trust and fostering authenticity, we create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I bring gentle curiosity, attentive listening and a compassionate presence, helping you gain insight, reflect deeply and gradually find your own way forward.
While my work is rooted in a person-centred approach, I also draw on other therapeutic modalities to tailor sessions to what each client needs. This means the way we work together is flexible and personalised, supporting you to reflect on challenges, build understanding and develop awareness that feels most relevant to your journey.
If you feel that my approach might be a good fit for you, you are very welcome to get in touch. We can have a conversation about what you are looking for and see together how counselling could support you.

-
I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and move at your own pace. My approach is person-centred, while also drawing on other approaches to support your individual needs.

You can contact me through my website, email me directly, or book a free 15-minute consultation call. We can talk about what’s bringing you to counselling and whether I feel like the right fit for you.
-
The first session is a chance for us to explore what has brought you to counselling and what support you may need. There’s no pressure to share everything straight away.
-

-
Yes. Counselling is your space and you are free to end sessions whenever you feel ready. If possible, we can use this as an opportunity for reflection and closure.
Finding the right fit
Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the process, and I understand that reaching out can feel like a big step. It’s completely okay to take your time and explore whether my approach feels right for you.
The relationship we build together plays such an important role in counselling and feeling safe, comfortable and able to be yourself matters. I believe therapy works best when there is trust, connection and a sense that you feel genuinely supported.
You may arrive with clear goals, or you may simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right. Wherever you find yourself, you deserve a space where you feel listened to, accepted and met with warmth.
